The organ workshops are primarily designed to educate those keyboardists who may not have much organ training. Seasoned organists will also find value in the presentations since the topics covered are critically important to producing music within Catholic worship. The presenters will focus on effective leading of hymn singing, proper posture and technique for organists, registration of organ stops and the effective use of the dynamic range of organ music including hymns and accessible organ repertoire for all levels of experience. Participants will be able to play the organs of the churches as part of the workshop. St. Joseph in Dover houses a small Wicks organ. St. Brenden is the home to an organ built by the Humpe company. St. Peter, Chillicothe recently went under a great renovation and the Kilgen organ was moved back to its place within the gallery. Presenters for the workshop will be Paul Thornock, Director of Music, St. Joseph Cathedral and Diocesan Music Consultant, Craig Jaynes, Director of Music at St. Colman in Washington Court House, and Matt Nadalin, Interim Director of Music, St. Mary, Lancaster.
