Thank you all for attending this meeting. It is exciting to see so many people interested in the wonderful chance to travel with Fr. Hahn to the Holy Land.
I just wanted to put a couple date reminders out to you and those who did not make the meeting.
Deposits and Reservation Form must be turned in by December 15, 2018. After this time, any open spots will be advertised outside the consortium.
Please make all checks out to NAWAS International. Check and paperwork should be sent to the attention of Jenny French at St. Peter's 285 W. Water Street Chillicothe 45601. You can also drop these off at the office. I am in the office Monday 1-4, Tuesday-Thursday 9-4, Friday 9-12, and Sunday 9-11.
Please remember to check the date on your passport. It must expire six months AFTER the date of the Pilgrimage (November 15, 2019), so it should expire no earlier than April of 2020. If it expires between November 15, 2019 and April 1, 2020, you will need to renew it prior to the trip.
Any renewal and purchase of new passport should be done as soon as possible. The travel agency will need the passport number for airline tickets.

All payments on the balance of the trip should also be made through me. I will be copying everything as a checks and balance on the travel agency.
Final payments on the trip will need to be made before July 28, 2019.
Once a deposit, reservation form and passport copy is given to me, I will have additional information to give you regarding purchasing travel insurance and more detailed specifics on preparing for the trip provided by the travel agency.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If I don't know the answer, I will contact our representative and find out.
God bless!
This pilgrimage is full! However, if you would like your name put on a wait list in case of cancellations, please call Jenny French at the parish office at 740-774-1407.
Hello Holy Land Pilgrims,
This is a follow up to last night’s meeting and information for those who could not be there.
Outline of last night’s meeting:
I.Update: We are limited to 64 seats for airlines. 50 will go out on two separate planes to Newark and then will fly together from there. A second group of 14 will travel together and then we will all meet in Tel Aviv and spend the rest of the pilgrimage together. On the return, the 50 will leave in the evening, the other 14 will go to a hotel and then will leave early in the morning (the extra night in hotel is covered by the original price) Attached is a list indicating which flight you are on (this was the one displayed on the screen last night) Airline details will probably be communicated at the August meeting.
II.Preparation – Misc.
a.Passport. If you have not yet got yours, please do so as soon as possible, and get a copy to Jenny French. Remember if you already have one a passport it cannot expire before May 16, 2020.
b.Trip Insurance. This is recommended and covers if you had to cancel for some reason, it also provides some medical coverage in Israel since your US insurance most likely does not. It can be bought through a company that is connected with our travel agency, NAWAS. You would have received a sheet for this at the first meeting or you could email Jenny for another. You also can shop online for this. Some have bought theirs through AAA, American Express, and TravelGuard among others.
c.Payments – You can make payments through Jenny at the office if you would like to begin making payments. No interim invoices will be sent, but probably in June, you will receive a final invoice for balance due. The total cost is due by July 28.
d.Medical Form – at the August meeting we’ll ask everyone to fill out a medical form
III.Preparation – Body and Soul
The Holy Land experience spans months. But we will only be on the ground for that little more than a week. To get the best out, use these months to prepare yourself both physically and spiritually. The pilgrimage itself will go very fast, and then you will spend months and years unpacking what you saw and experienced. Prepare well now so that you get the most out of those few days on the ground.
a.Body – start walking now. Ideally building up to the ability to walk 2-3 miles in a day without much discomfort. The more you sweat now, the more you will be able to enjoy the pilgrimage.
b.Soul – immerse yourself in Scriptures over these next 8 ½ months. We will be walking in these places that just seemed like a vague “over there” in your mind in the past. Now the specifics will become more important. Where did these events in Scripture occur? Why? To aid this we will be doing a Bible Study together.
IV.At the August meeting we’ll begin discussing things like carpooling to the airport, dollars/shekels, clothing, etc.
V.Bible Study - We’ll be doing a monthly Bible Study – every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 through August. If you cannot join us, I encourage you to do the study at home. Directions on how to access it are at the bottom of the attached schedule. Waverly pilgrims may consider doing the study together at St. Mary’s if they don’t want to drive, same for Washington Court House folk, and Logan group.
VI.Everyone is encouraged, however, to attend the August session as this will also be a time of updating on the details of the trip.
It will be here before we know it! Let’s use the time in front of us to prepare ourselves to be the most open and available to the Lord during the trip by taking the time now to prepare ourselves physically and spiritually. This is an opportunity of a lifetime – let’s prepare for it as such!
In Christ,
Fr. Hahn
