TITLE:  COORDINATOR OF CHILDREN’S CATECHESIS
This is a full-time position which reports to Pastor and Director of Faith Formation.

JOB SUMMARY:
           The primary responsibility of the Coordinator of Children’s Catechesis will be to oversee the catechesis of children in our parish community from pre-K – 6^th grade. This will be accomplished through establishing a flourishing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for ages 3-6 years of age (a Level I atrium is in its final stages of completion), the planning of a Level II atrium, coordinating sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, directing the weekly Faith Formation Program for children ages 3-12 years of age, and overseeing additional catechesis programing for children in our consortium community such as Totus Tuus or Vacation Bible School.
 
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
            A.  Establish a flourishing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program
            B.  Coordinate sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
            C. Direct weekly Faith Formation Program for children pre-K – 6^th grade.
            D.  Oversee additional catechesis programing for children in our consortium community 
            E. Monitor budgets for programs
            F.  Ensure all volunteers have undergone the Diocesan Safe Environment Training
            G. Attend parish staff meetings
            H. Pursue continued professional and spiritual growth
             I. Additional duties as assigned by pastor

• Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training Completion Levels I and II preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in theology or equivalent experience preferred
• Protecting God’s Children Certification Course and Background check will be required
• Experience in ministry as a volunteer or trained missionary working with children preferred
• Ability to work with a variety of age groups and backgrounds
• Ability to organize, prioritize, manage multiple priorities, and work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Leadership and mentoring skills
• Skills in navigating and creating electronic forms, advertisements, and tracking spending
